Introduction
Life transitions can be so disorienting. A diagnosis, a divorce, a new season of motherhood — they can leave us staring at the mirror, wondering: “Who am I now?”
I’ve been there. I know the ache of believing the person I once was had slipped away. But here’s the truth I want to whisper to you today: your identity in Christ does not vanish when life shifts. It remains steady, even when everything else feels unsteady.
✨ If you’re in a season of change, I created a free resource just for you — the Identity Restoration Journal.
When Life Feels Like Loss
For me, loss came in layers.
The first was more than ten years ago, when I was diagnosed with a physical condition that affected my mobility. Overnight, the plans I had for my life seemed to crumble. I couldn’t work for three years, and I felt powerless, watching the world move forward without me.
Years later, I faced another breaking: divorce. That season left me questioning everything I thought I knew about love, stability, and myself.
Not long after, I received an ADHD and Autism diagnosis. In many ways, it was an answer that explained so much — but it also left me wrestling with new questions about who I really was and how I fit into the world.
And through it all, I’ve walked the road of single motherhood — carrying both the deep joy of raising my child and the heavy weight of doing it alone.
Maybe your story looks different. Maybe you’ve faced a diagnosis, a loss, or a transition that left you whispering, “I just don’t recognize myself anymore.” If so, I want you to know: you’re not alone.
A Gentle Reminder of Truth
Right in the middle of those feelings, God reminded me of this unshakable truth:
You are so much more than what you’ve lost—you are beloved, chosen, and called to flourish in every season of life. Always remember: You are not alone. God is still writing your story, and He has not forgotten you.
Isn’t that a breath of fresh air? We may lose health, relationships, jobs, or even old versions of ourselves, but in Christ, we never lose our true identity. That is anchored. That is secure.
Proof You’re Not Alone
Over the years, I’ve heard from so many women who’ve said the same thing: spending time with God was their comfort and lifeline in seasons of loss.
Whether it was journaling through scripture, sitting quietly in prayer, or clinging to a verse on the hardest days — it wasn’t willpower that carried them, it was His presence.
You are in good company. Women just like you have found strength, hope, and even joy in the middle of pain by resting in Him. And you can too.
One Small Step You Can Take Today
When everything feels overwhelming, it helps to start small. Here’s one practice that has carried me through:
Choose one verse that reminds you of who you are in Christ. A favorite of mine is Isaiah 43:1 — “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name; you are mine.”
Write it on a card, journal page, or even save it as your phone lock screen.
Every time you see it, pause, breathe deeply, and let it remind you that you are seen, loved, and never forgotten.
This simple act can begin shifting your perspective, anchoring your heart in the truth of who God says you are.
What If You Don’t Have Time?
You might be thinking: “I’m too overwhelmed right now. I don’t have time for reflection.”
Here’s the good news — you don’t need hours. Just five minutes a day is enough. A quiet pause, a single scripture, one deep breath in His presence — and you’ll begin to notice your spirit finding rest again.
Your Next Step
Friend, your story is not over. This season may feel like an ending, but in Christ, it is also the beginning of something new. You are still held. You are still chosen. And you are still deeply loved.
That’s why I created the Identity Restoration Journal — to help you pause, breathe, and rebuild your confidence in Christ, one gentle step at a time.
Take this as your first step — because you are so much more than what you’ve lost. You are beloved. You are chosen. And you are called to flourish in every season. 🌿
